Are you concerned about powering your home or workplace should power outages occur?
The prospect is a real one as Ireland’s electricity grid is faced with an increased potential for blackouts later in the year according to a professor in energy engineering at University College Cork. Various news outlets including RTE and Business Post have reported that plans to import emergency power generators – signed off in June – have stalled and could result in areas both north and south of the border being without power during the chilly winter months.
Eirgrid, who operate Ireland’s electricity grid have stated that “maintaining the balance between supply and demand has become increasingly challenging”, and highlight that certain types of conventional backup generators being gradually phased out in line with EU directives as one of the main factors in driving the problem.
Furthermore, Eigrid note that Ireland is experiencing a significant increase in demand for electricity and due to the COVID-19 pandemic causing postponements and delays to annual generator maintenance, some generators in Cork and Dublin have been out of operation since last winter, further increasing pressure on the supply – demand equilibrium.
Here at Arbarr, we have designed and produced a variety of rechargeable (when supplied with the appropriate kit) power stations that provide back up for mains power solutions and will power the above loads in your home or workplace should power outages occur. The Arbarr Power Station comes in a range of sizes and are fumeless, safe, silent, portable and reliable making them ideal for use indoors in emergencies, agricultural settings, motorhomes and off-grid outdoor use such as camping.
